"This edition is published by special permission of the Hopkins Estate and Oxford University Press, Inc." -- Title page verso.
"In the foregoing text, the arrangement is essentially that of Robert Bridges, the friend and first editor of the poet. The Early Poems and the Poems 1876-1889 are generally in the chronological order of their writing; the Additional Poems, although at the end of the volume, are obviously very early efforts. A few patent errors have been corrected; but many seeming errors are merely Hopkins' peculiarities of speech and spelling. The text is set in the Weiss types, and is printed on specially-made paper" -- Publisher's note.
Issued in slip case.
